The wedding date: here's your 10-point guide to choosing the right one, or at least not choose the wrong one!

The first big challenge for a couple is the choice of the wedding date. It's necessary to find a date that works for everyone: parents and mutual friends and relatives.

1) ADVANCE: first of all, take your time and really think about this seemingly trivial decision,

at least one year. In this way, you can manage all the unexpected events.

2) SEASON: what is your favourite season? Imagine your wedding day.

Will it be a sunny and hot day at the pool? Or in a frescoed hall in front of a glowing fire?

Check the weather conditions in the region where you are getting married at that time.

Avoid the hurricane period if you get married in the Caribbean, and that of the monsoon

if you get married in South East Asia.

Anyway, remember to provide a plan B, because even in the middle of the Summer there may be storms.

3) ANNIVERSARIES: Some anniversaries might be perfect , such as the day you met,

or the day you had your first kiss from your beloved, or when you got engaged,

or even on your birthday, but only if it coincides with the birthday of your partner (it is not frequent, but it happens).

4) NUMBERS: Your personal lucky numbers could be an inspiration for choosing the date.

5) CALENDAR: the days before a holiday are ideal, to allow your guests to rest and to take their time to go back home.

6) RELATIVES' ANNIVERSARIES AND REMEMBRANCE DAYS: From here begins the list of dates to avoid,

or to carefully consider. Before choosing to get married on the anniversary day of your parents,

or of your brothers and sisters, or of your bridesmaid or groomsman, make sure they agree.

You should do the same for their birthday. Beyond that, not all the recurrences are positive.

Some can recall sad memories and it is important to avoid these dates.

For instance, it is not appropriate to get married on September 11th, if there are soldiers

or firemen or American citizens among your guests.

7) PUBLIC EVENTS:Check that there are no important events in your city that make essential

the presence of some of your most important guests.

8) SPORT: Avoid getting married during popular sporting events such as the Football World Cup final,

or the Superbowl. These would divert the attention and the participation of your guests.

There is nothing sadder than a big screen in a room or guests who disappear

to go watching TV in another room of the beautiful location you have chosen.

9) RELIGIOUS RECURRENCES: If you want to celebrate a Catholic wedding,

here is a list of the days where weddings cannot be held.

Palm Sunday (April 14th in 2019), Easter (April 21st in 2019) and the following Sunday (April 28th);

Christmas (December 25th) and the days immediately after Christmas.

There are many other recurrences, but lately the priests are a little more flexible

and you should check with them if they agree to celebrate the wedding those days

(for instance the Corpus Christi, the Patron Saint's day, and so on).

10) SUPERSTITION: If you are superstitious, here are some indications.

In Italy you should avoid Friday 17th, but in other parts of the world it is Friday 13th.

As far as the days of the week are concerned: Monday is the day of the moon and it fulfills your desires.

Tuesday brings wealth. Wednesday was considered by Celtics "the best day of all" and it is still positively considered.

Thursday would bring sorrows to the bride. Friday is the day of Venus, but for Catholics, it is a day of penitence.

By tradition, Saturday is not a good day to get married. Sunday would be perfect, but it is necessary to decide it

well in advance, so that the celebrant, the priest, the church, your favorite location, etc are not booked.

Finally, if you are thinking of hiring the wedding planner of your dreams, the one who, you know,

will design and organize the most beautiful day of your life,

then make sure that she is free on the day that you have chosen.

ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS will ordinarily collect and process your personal data because it is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or because ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS has another legitimate interest in doing so. When ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS cannot rely on either of such legal grounds, it will seek your prior consent. Categories of Personal Data Collected
In certain instances, ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS, in its capacity as a controller, may acquire your personal data from a third party, and not directly from you. Transfer of Personal Data to the Extra UE states
Personal data that you provide while in the EU, an EAA member state, or Switzerland will not be transferred to the Extra UE states. The GDPR permits such transfer when necessary for the performance of a contract between you and ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS or if ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS obtains your explicit consent to such transfer. In transferring your personal data to a processor, ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS will employ suitable safeguards, including those described in the Information Security section below, to protect the privacy and security of your personal data so that it is only used in a manner consistent with your relationship with the university and this privacy notice.

How Long Will Your Personal Data Be Stored?
The GDPR requires that your personal data be kept no longer than necessary. The applicable time period will depend on the nature of such personal data and will also be determined by legal requirements imposed under applicable laws and regulations. You Have Certain Rights to Control Your Personal Data
Articles 15-21 of the GDPR give you the right to control your personal data by directing ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS, as controller, to do one or more of the following, subject to certain conditions and limitations:

(a) allow you to access your personal data to see what information ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS has collected concerning you;
(b) correct (rectify) any inaccuracy in your personal data;
(c) delete (erase) your personal data, unless ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS can demonstrate that retention is necessary or that ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS has other overriding legitimate grounds for retention;

Are You Obligated to Provide Personal Data?
As discussed above, ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS will sometimes ask you to provide information necessary to perform contracts to which you are a party, or to satisfy certain legal requirements binding upon the university. If you do not provide such information, ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS will not be able to process such contracts or comply with such legal requirements, and you will not be eligible to receive the benefits that may result from the processing of such contracts, or compliance with such requirements.

You Have The Right to Know If ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS Uses Your Personal Data In Automated Decision-Making, Including Profiling
The GDPR limits ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS's right to use your personal data for predictive purposes as part of an automated decision-making process, including profiling. Such a process uses your personal data, such as preferences, interests, behavior, locations, and personal movement, to make an analytically-determined decision, instead of a personalized, individual decision. The GDPR limitation does not apply when such automated decision-making is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are, or will be, a party. Information Security
ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS, by design, works to take necessary steps to protect personal data from unauthorized access, unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information. In particular, ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS :

uses encryption both in transit and at rest to protect personal data;
requires log-in authentication for accessing services related to a data subject's ITALIAN DREAM WEDDINGS Account;
reviews its information collection, storage and processing practices, perimeter security and physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems;
restricts access to personal data on a "need to know" basis so that only authorized personnel and contractors have access to personal data and only for the permitted purpose
